Shamanism

To understand the truth and purpose of Shamanism, it is important to unlearn what you may have or may not have heard or seen in movies, online, from people who have never truly experience it, and from social media. Shamanism and the history of it deserves to be seen and heard in this modern era for its exquisite and beautiful truth.

Shamanism is an ancient form of healing practice. This practice is not a religion. It is more in line with the medical profession than a form of organized religion. In many ancient civilizations dating back to prehistoric times, continuing though the old stone age and into the ancient cultures of Siberia, Mexico, North American, Egypt, Europe, Asia and South America all had forms of Shaman. Without textbooks and internet to learn the process, almost all of these cultures had similarities in the way the Shaman functioned in their communities.

The Shaman is a person, male or female, in the tribe who treats the tribal members, tribal land, animals, and plants in their area using the guidance of spirit allies who exist in what’s called the spirit world also known as the non-ordinary reality. The Shaman is a human who uses ancient drumming techniques and sounds from rattles shaking to enter a slightly trance like state. In this state, the Shaman connects to spirit allies and nature to become enlightened on the issues the client is seeking help with. A spirit ally could be, but is not limited, to animals, Angels, Gods, Goddesses, Plants, Mother Earth, people who have passed in their life time that they were extremely close with, a soul from the galaxies’, and or other ancient people. When a Shaman connects with these spirit allies, their job is to gain information regarding the health of the soul looking to be healed. The shaman works alongside the spirits allies to perform the necessary healing ceremony, ritual, or service to assist in the healing of an ill or troubled soul.

In the modern world and through western medicine, we are conditioned to take a manmade pill to fix the ailments of your body, mind and spirit. Many people try this method of healing only to be left with little to no results, continuing to feel “broken”, “lost”, “disconnected”, “fragmented”, “depressed”, “exhausted”, etc. The Shaman treats these conditions differently, through what I like to term, divine spiritual intervention, connecting to the spirit world to heal the soul without the use of drugs instead through a deep connection to the energy and life force that exists in the natural world.

During a healing session the Shaman will set a sacred safe place for the client, inquire about the issue the client is having, decide the best ritual, healing, or ceremony needed for the issue, set the intention to heal, then perform the healing. Common healings performed are soul retrievals, extractions, divinations, and readings, clearings (which are similar to Tarot card readings but with stones or divination tools instead), Shamanic medium, and death doula services.

It is my calling to bring forth the lessons and techniques of the Ancient Celtic and Mayan Shaman that I have learned alongside my clan from Inverness Scotland through the lineage of Two Birds Cunningham and Anam Cara, to aid and heal as many people, animals, land, and souls as I can.

Much Love and Light,

Bringer of the Sacred Light
